QSRs among Slate's top 50 companies on Facebook

Slate's The Big Money blog has compiled a list of the top 50 companies who make the best use of Facebook. Quick-serve brands on the list include: - Chick-fil-A — (No. 8) The company was the first restaurant to surpass 1 million fans, doing so in August. Fan count: 1.2 million-plus
- Dunkin' Donuts — (No. 12) The brand holds a Fan of the Week contest, using the winner's photo as its profile picture. Most brands just use their logos. Fan count: 950,000-plus
- Krispy Kreme Doughnuts — (No. 17) The donut brand engages fans by posting questions. Fan count: about 1.2 million
- McDonald's — (No. 23) The company boosted its fan count over the summer by included unofficial fan pages into its official page. Fan count: about 1.5 million
- Dippin Dots — (No. 27) The ice cream brand builds fan involvement with contests and promotions. Fan count: about 899,000
- Taco Bell — (No. 47) The brand uses the site to respond to fan comments as well as promote menu debuts and special offers, generating positive feedback. Fan count: about 665,000
