White Castle has again tapped into the creative powers of unisex clothing line designer Telfar Clemens, this time to give the chain a very classic-looking $5.99 mug to sell this holiday. Those who buy the blue-and-white cups also get the added good feelings that come with knowing that proceeds go to help replenish the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Fund to use as bail for school-age youngsters held on Rikers Island, a news release said.
Clemens, the designer behind the renowned Telfar design line is also this year's winner of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion fund and last year began partnering with the burger QSR to recreate White Castle uniforms for its 10,000 works across nearly 400 stores. The partnership also extends to side lines like the mugs and a collection of limited-edition streetwear, which sold out days after launch.
"For many years, White Castle has enjoyed producing these one-of-a-kind mugs," White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson, said in the release. "This year, we're particularly excited to be able to bring our Cravers a custom design by our close friend and partner, Telfar Clemens."
Since the partnership began, Telfar has produced two sets of White Castle team member uniforms, with a third line to be released in 2019.
