A new report from WalletHub has named 2021's Best Cities for vegan and vegetarians. About 15.2 million U.S. adults are vegan or vegetarian.
To determine the best and cheapest places for following a plant-based diet, the personal-finance website compared the 100 largest cities across 16 key indicators of vegan- and vegetarian-friendliness. The data set ranges from the shares of restaurants serving meatless options to the cost of groceries for vegetarians to salad shops per capita, according to a press release.
The top 10 cities for vegans and vegetarians are:

2. Orlando, Florida
3. Los Angeles, California
4. San Francisco, California
5. Boise, Idaho
6. Austin, Texas
7. Seattle, Washington
8. Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky
9. Oakland, California
10. San Diego, California
In the report, Scottsdale, Arizona (No. 27 on the list), has the highest share of restaurants serving vegetarian options, 27.99%, which is 10.1 times higher than in Laredo, Texas (No. 40), the city with the lowest at 2.77%.
Scottsdale also had the highest share of restaurants serving vegan options with 16.41%, which is 19.5 times higher than in North Las Vegas, Nevada (No. 99), the city with the lowest at .84%.
Miami (No. 13) has the most salad shops (per square root of population), 0.2226, which is 18.2 times more than in North Las Vegas, Nevada (No. 99), the city with the fewest at 0.0122.
