Rita's hosts social media contests to mark spring's arrival

Rita's Italian Ice will celebrate its 22nd Annual First Day of Spring Free Italian Ice Giveaway March 20 with a photo contest.

Customers who capture their participation at a Rita's for the promotion, and tag their photos with #ritasfirstdayofspring on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram through March 23 will be in the running to receive the grand prize — free Rita's Ice for a year. Two runners-up will receive a special Rita's Spring Picnic Pack, according to a news release, and honorable mention photographers will receive gift vouchers from Printstagram.

Winners will be announced on March 27.

Rita's will also host a First Day of Spring Great State Race on Twitter. On March 20, all day, fans who post "Tweet your Treat" and the state they are located in will earn a chance to win a Rita's gift card.

Also as part of Rita's 22nd Annual First Day of Spring Free Ice Giveaway, Rita's Rewards users will earn a free punch on March 20.
