Sanidoor debuts next-generation touch-free door opening system

February 9, 2010

As important as food safety and sanitation measures are to restaurants, those efforts may be unwittingly undone by customers failing to wash their hands after using the restroom and then touching the public restroom door. According to a recent study, only 43 percent of men and 54 percent of women wash their hands after using the restroom. That means of course that many public restroom doors are often contaminated with an array of germs.

A unique technology is now helping to flush away that spread of germs at more and more public restrooms nationwide. Sanidoor, with its touch-free door opening system designed to reduce the spread of germs through eliminating door surface contact going in and out of the restroom, is poised to launch its new second-generation system throughout North America.

Doors equipped with the Sanidoor system open with a simple wave of a hand, much like hands-free faucets and towel dispensers. The second generation system will feature models developed specifically for swinging doors and single-use locking public restrooms.

The Sanidoor system already is installed and eliminating germs in more than 300 public restroom locations in the United States, and it is gaining popularity among large employers, hotels, hospitals, doctor's offices and retail outlets. Sanidoor is currently popular in many restaurants and businesses in Florida, including McDonald's, Panchero's Mexican Grill and Sonny's BBQ.

Sanidoor can be retro-fitted to any swinging door in public, commercial and business settings: restaurants, hotels, stores, hospitals, healthcare facilities and more. Approved to meet all U.S. and Canadian standards for automatic door openers, Sanidoor easily installs on existing public restroom doors, including retrofit and new construction. The innovative design of the Sanidoor system even includes safety measures for impediment and entrapment protection. Sanidoor is ADA compliant and is internationally patented and trademarked.
