In-N-Out Burger's cult following has extended well beyond U.S. borders. The chain's pop-up stand in Singapore sold out of burgers within five minutes of making its debut this week, according to Gawker.
The stand was announced through social media and Singapore residents rushed to try the California staple. The company handed out bracelets to those waiting in line. All 300 available bracelets were handed out prior to the stand's official opening, and about 300 other customers were turned away.
In-N-Out Burger anticipated the stand being open for about four hours. The company opened a pop-up stand recently in Australia, as well, which sold out in about 20 minutes.
The company's Facebook page indicated there are no plans to open in the international markets with the following statement:
"To guarantee freshness, we deliver our patties, buns, and produce to the restaurant via our own delivery trucks. In order for our trucks to make deliveries and still maintain our standard of freshness, we simply can't consider building a restaurant if the area is too far away."
