Software hopes to help restaurants meet FDA guidelines

May 26, 2016

Trabon has introduced its new My Meal, My Way Nutrition Calculator, which helps restaurants seamlessly comply with the FDA regulations that take effect May 2017, according to a company press release.

The calculator provides guests with 11 specific nutritional data points including calories, fat, sugar and sodium, said Trabon Chief Business Development Officer Nancy Hampton.

"My Meal, My Way not only makes it easy for restaurant companies to meet new regulations, it also helps them better serve their guests who are increasingly demanding more transparency from their favorite eateries," she said. "It is a stand-alone, interactive technology that allows guests to customize their meals, add or subtract ingredients and even filter out items they don't or can't eat."

Trabon's calculator also makes it easy for restaurants to modify their menus with new items, LTOs or regional offerings with a simple administrative interface to create, edit or delete items while still tracking all nutritional data, Hampton said.

Nutritional analysis housed in the calculator's proprietary database makes ongoing brand updates easier, and its software allows restaurants to map data directly from their own nutritional data provider, according to the release. The calculator can be accessed not only via the brand website but also through online ordering apps, third-party delivery services and menu aggregators.
