Study: Burgers but not chicken gaining with affluent

Marketing Daily: Newly released Experian Simmons data has found that affluent consumers increased their visits to fast-food burger restaurants and cut back on visits to upscale family chains in the months following the economic "meltdown" in early October.
The preliminary data reflects week-by-week trends following the meltdown Oct. 3.Visits to fast-food chicken chains did not increase amoung the more affluent demographic, and visits from those in the middle and lowest income levels pre- and post-meltdown remained flat.
