Subway plans fundraiser to help the homeless

The 16th annual Subway Bedrace for Bridging, presented by Cities 97, is set for March 1 at 5 p.m. down Buck Hill in Burnsville, Minn. Teams of four are invited to race down the tubing hill atop specially covered bed mattresses (provided at the race site).

Participants pay a registration fee and are also encouraged to collect donations. According to a news release, 100 percent of fees and donations will go toward Bridging, a Bloomington, Minn.-based nonprofit organization that supports families transitioning out of homelessness and poverty.
