Subway Restaurants has named Chicago-based Upshot as its merchandising and promotion agency of record.
The assignment includes driving customer in-store experience, development of in-store merchandising and sales-driving programs for Subway units in the United States, as well as support of ongoing promotional development needs.
Upshot's integrated team will be led by Senior Vice Presidents Rich Scarle (account management) and Jerry Craven (creative services).
"Subway is an outstanding brand that has set a high standard for marketing excellence," said Brian Kristofek, Upshot president and CEO. "We're confident we can continue and build on their growth momentum."
The win adds to Upshot's portfolio, which also includes P&G, Disney, Kraft Foods, Corona and Hilton.
"Upshot demonstrated strong strategic thinking and engaging creative execution during the pitch process. They were clearly ahead of their peer group," said Tony Pace, Subway's chief marketing officer. "We look forward to having their work add to our already strong brand and business."
