Taco Bell is piloting a new approach to recruitment this weekend in Indianapolis, where it will stage the chain's initial run of so-called "hiring parties." The events are being staged as a way to generate interest in a variety of store openings in a difficult restaurant hiring environment, a news release said.
The parties will include free food in the form of Nacho Fries and Watermelon Freezes, along with games, on-the-spot interviews and gift card signing bonuses. The first party took place Wednesday at four Indianapolis locations, with the next set for Saturday, July 21, from 2 to 5 p.m.
The chain said the events will contribute to the approximately 3,000 existing employees in the Indy area, as well as Taco Bell's goal to hire 100,000 new employees by 2022. Those hired at the pilot parties can also take advantage of the chain's benefits, like tuition assistance and leadership development programs, without any set required time with the company or intent to stay on the job, the release said.
