Taco Bell hopes Taco Day is music to fans' ears

Leave it to the folks at Yum Brands to take today’s National Taco Day to a new level of absurdity. After all, this is the same parent brand that gave the world KFC’s "extra crispy colonel," this past summer. Clearly, as a sister brand, Taco Bell had to do something to steal some limelight and what better way to catch attention that with a catchy tune? That's right, Taco Day, now has its very own holiday hit single, "Happy Taco Day."

The chain's entry into the music business includes a special music video for its newly created celebratory song, which is now live on Musical.ly, which bills itself as the "world's fastest-growing social network around music and lifestyle." The app allows users to create music videos for favorite songs and this is Taco Bell's first partnership with the entity, as well as its first engagement with the Musical.ly community.

Taco Bell is also trying to start some holiday hullabaloo for the otherwise marketing-related "holiday" by prompting customers to go online and download specially created National Taco Day greeting cards and send them to friends, via its Ta.co/Day website
