In a year of aggressive growth, TCBY expects to exceed its original goal of 75 new openings, according to CEO Tim Casey.
The frozen yogurt chain can add two more to its 2011 list. This week, TCBY opened in Charlotte, N.C., marking its 28th store in that state. It also opened its seventh store in Oregon, in Sandy.
The owner of the Charlotte location is Samuel Batt, a TCBY franchise area developer for North and South Carolina.
Although Batt now owns eight stores, this location is the first to open since he signed as an area developer to open an additional 23 stores. The new store is 2,000 square feet and features TCBY's new self-serve concept, which allows customers to make their own frozen yogurt treat by choosing from 12 available flavors and mixing in a variety of toppings.
The owner of the Sandy location is Hannah Smith, a first-time franchisee.
This store is approximately 1,200 square feet and also features TCBY's new self-serve concept.
