Teriyaki Experience announces plans for Atlanta airport location

February 15, 2012

Teriyaki Experience, a Japanese quick-service chain, has announced a partnership with Global Concessions Inc. of Atlanta that will see the development of a Teriyaki Experience location in the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The new location is scheduled to open in late 2012 or early 2013 in the main terminal of the airport and will offer the full Teriyaki Experience menu plus hot breakfast options.

Global Concessions Inc. (GCI) is a multi-concept operator of food and beverage concessions at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The GCI brand portfolio includes numerous franchises such as Ben & Jerry's, Great Wraps, Nathan's Famous and Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips, as well as several original concepts, including Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint, Sojourners Café and One Flew South.

"Global Concessions is pleased to partner with Teriyaki Experience," said Terry Harps, chairman and CEO of Global Concessions Inc. "Teriyaki Experience has found a way to offer a freshly prepared, Asian cuisine in a delicious and healthy way and at a great value for our customers. We are proud to offer this amazing concept to the millions of passengers who pass through the Atrium of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport."

Teriyaki Experience offers guests the option of cooking their meals with its signature Asian cooking sauce. Using the teppanyaki griddle, each meal is prepared in less than three minutes. The menu features a selection of rice and noodle meals, soups, salad and sushi. Most menu items have less than 10 grams of fat and contain less than 600 calories.

Teriyaki Experience's other Atlanta location is at The District at Howell Mill. Additionally, the concept has airport locations in Kuwait and Tocumen, Panama.

Overall, the company has 138 operating locations throughout Canada, the U.S., the Middle East, Europe, South and Central America and the Caribbean.
