Teriyaki Experience is expanding its Asian-inspired cuisine into Fairfield, Calif., with the opening of its newest restaurant location in the Westfield Solano Mall.
The new unit is part of a growth initiative to develop 21 locations within the next 10 years throughout Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer and San Joaquin Counties in California. The local initiative in Northern California is part of a nationwide expansion plan that calls for 500 locations in the next 5 to 7 years.
"We are excited to further our growth in the state of California as it helps us push forward to meet our national expansion goal," said Nick Veloce, president and COO of Teriyaki Experience. "The new location provides mall visitors an opportunity to visit a restaurant establishment that offers a quick and healthy fast food alternative."
Franchisee of the Solano store, David Marquez, is the founder of SBM Food Corporation and has more than 30 years of restaurant and business experience in both corporate and franchise operations. SBM also is a franchisee of Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, operating two locations in Sacramento with combined sales in 2009 of $3.7 million. He also previously worked as director of operations for a multi-unit McDonald's franchisee.
"We knew Fairfield was the perfect market for us to open a Teriyaki Experience restaurant in as there are a growing number of families and business professionals in the area seeking affordable dining options," Marquez said. "As more and more consumers begin to realize that fast food doesn't have to be fat food, we look forward to continuing to provide them with healthy and delicious options."
