Texas Chicken opened its first restaurant in Oman, according to a news release. The restaurant opened last week and is operated by the Olayan Group, which operates more than 40 Texas Chicken restaurants in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. It has plans to add five chain locations in Oman alone.
"We are proud to be able to bring our 65-year history as a leading quick service brand into new areas of the Middle East," Texas Chicken EVP of International Business and Global Development Tony Moralejo said in a news release. "Development agreements, such as the one we have with the Olayan Group, are essential to helping us achieve our ambitious international expansion goals. The Olayan Group has proven to be a key strategic developer and operator in the successful execution of our mission of bringing quality food and beverages, as well as an exceptional experience, to customers across the globe."
The five restaurants set to open in Oman are just a portion of 63 new Texas Chicken restaurants planned over the next several years in the region, including sites in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman.
