True love — American-style — according to White Castle equals little square burgers. To that end, the chain has opened reservations for its 26th annual Valentine's Day dinner from 4 to 9 p.m., according to a news release. Those bookings apparently fill up early, which is an indication of the success White Castle has had with this offbeat promotion.
This year's LTO of love includes hostess seating, table-side service and the ultimate in saying "I Love You" — sliders, chicken rings and gooey butter cake on a stick.
"Reservations fill up quickly at many locations," White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson said in a news release. "We encourage Cravers everywhere to contact our regional offices as soon as possible to ensure they get a table. It's the ultimate way to 'share the love' on Valentine's Day. ... Many couples have fond memories of first dates here, some even met for the first time at a White Castle — and then there's the few who shared their wedding vows among friends and family in our dining room."
White Castle also builds on the promotion by encouraging guests to take photos and post them to social media, using #whitecastle to grow the love for the brand globally. The chain is also sharing the love in the run-up to Valentine's Day, from Feb. 1 through Feb. 14, when guests can contribute to the Red Cross Disaster Relief through the chain's Castle Shares initiative.
