March 24, 2016

The Chopped Leaf will open its doors in Ontario, Canada, this summer at Dundas and Appleby Plaza in Burlington and Northfield Square in Waterloo. Ten new restaurants are slated to open within the next four months and more throughout the year, adding to the 29 locations currently in operation, according to a company press release. Chopped Leaf offers a gourmet menu served in a quick serve environment reflective of the lifestyle and needs of its first customers: citizens of Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, who are typically health-conscious, active and attuned to fresh, natural, plant-based food.

"We keep it simple and stick to our values: natural ingredients and great flavours to fuel active lifestyles while still offering delicious meals that appeal to everyone," said Blair Stevens, Chopped Leaf founder and president. "Little to no preservatives, natural ingredients."

Stevens values activity and real food because he believes "healthy living creates happiness."

Chopped Leaf's menu features:

  • Fresh and natural core ingredients in all recipes.
  • Build-your-own salads and wraps option.
  • Only private label dressings.
  • Soups made from scratch.
  • Gluten-free food choices.
  • Meat alternatives and nutrient-dense vegan and vegetarian food options.
