The increasing emphasis on restaurant delivery has brought all kinds of new problems to the table, like how do you keep fries hot and crispy on the delivery ride? One company thinks they hold the solution in a specially developed product they're calling "Crispy on Delivery."
Lamb Weston said in a news release that the company performed extensive consumer research on fries that deliver well to homes and offices. The company found that three key components affect the enjoyment of fries by customers at the end of the delivery chain: the product itself; how it's delivered; and how it's packaged.
The company said it has developed a fry that maintains heat and crispiness for 30 minutes, versus five minutes for traditional fries. Their secret is a light batter and a patented venting container that prevents condensation. The fry even comes with delivery support that includes prep and packing tips, as well as care and handling pointers.
Initial restaurant operating response has been good, the company said. The business also provides other vegetable products for restaurants worldwide.
