Tim Hortons builds 2 Canadian distribution centers

June 21, 2018

Tim Hortons said this week that it is growing and modernizing its Canadian distribution network by adding two warehouses in Alberta and British Columbia and expanding its warehouse in Debert, Nova Scotia. The initiative should improve the supply chain while streamlining overall operations in Canada. The $75.1 million USD ($100 million CAD) project will create 150 jobs, a news release said.

"We have an exciting agenda of new menu items, renovated restaurants and new advertising program at Tim Hortons," President Alex Macedo said in the release. "Today's announcement is an important infrastructure investment that will support these initiatives, support our restaurant owners and reflects our long-term commitment to building our business and brand in Canada."

The British Columbia warehouse will serve that province, while the one in Alberta will handle deliveries in there and to Saskatchewan. The Debert warehouse will continue to serve as the hub for Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Third-party distribution partners will continue to serve restaurants in Manitoba, Newfoundland, Labradorm and in parts of Quebec.

The brand started as a single Canadian location in 1964, and now has more than 4,700 locations worldwide.
