Tim Hortons' employees compete for speed, accuracy, friendliness

November 22, 2013

Tim Hortons hones its employees' speed, order accuracy and friendliness skills through its annual Tim Cup challenge. During the recently held competition, nearly 4,000 employees competed throughout Canada and the U.S. in events that measured these skills.

This year, the team from one of St. John's (Newfoundland) 25 restaurants won the title. The "Pat-Nots" from the St. John's unit, located at 283 Portugal Cove Road, were crowned "hospitality champions" out of the nearly 1,300 participating restaurants competing. The winning team received $6,000 per member and a trophy.

"The Tim Cup Challenge allows us to recognize and reward our team members for delivering the ultimate guest experience, and I am thrilled the challenge is now back for its second year," said David Clanachan, COO, Tim Hortons. "The purpose of the challenge is to encourage friendly competition, and to celebrate our hospitality all-stars, who work hard every day to serve our guests across Canada and the United States with speed, accuracy and a smile."

The Pat-Nots include Stacey Coish, Andrew Boone and Tracey Pitcher, along with manager Robert Tobin.
