Actor Verne Troyer, known for his work in the Austin Powers movie franchise, has been named as a judge for the second annual Krispy Kreme Film Festival in Canada. Troyer will announce the winning film Sept. 10 at a red carpet event in Toronto.

Actor Verne Troyer, known for his work in the Austin Powers movie franchise, has been named as a judge for the second annual Krispy Kreme Film Festival in Canada. Troyer will announce the winning film Sept. 10 at a red carpet event in Toronto.
Krispy Kreme Canada has invited fans to submit doughnut-themed short films. Videos must be between 8 seconds and 5 minutes in length and can be submitted online at krispykremefilmfestival.ca. The grand prize winner will receive a year's supply of free doughnuts, a $1,000 cash prize and a golden trophy.
The contest is open to Canadian residents only. Entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm on Sept. 5.
