DUBLIN, Ohio, July 22, 2005 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/-- Now there's another way to enjoy yogurt at Wendy's®.The restaurant chain announced today that it is adding a low-fat, strawberry-flavored yogurt cup with granola to its menu. "Earlier this year, we introduced fresh fruit bowl that features high quality, premium fruit and a great-tasting yogurt for dipping. Based on the positive feedback we've received from customers, we have decided to offer yogurt as a separate menu option," said Tom Mueller, president, Wendy's North America. "It's another example of how we are continuing to evolve and expand our menu to give our customers more choices that are tasty and nutritious." The 2005 edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, issued by the U.S. Departments of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services (HHS), recommends that Americans consume three cups daily of milk, cheese or yogurt. Yogurt sales rose 87% from 1994 to 2004.* The suggested retail price for Wendy's 6.85-ounce yogurt serving with granola is $1.29.
