Wendy's underlined its commitment to all things "chicken" today by both launching a new classic chicken sandwich and adding the higher-quality filet used in that offering across its entire chicken sandwich line. The brand said it was crispier, juicier and tastier, according to a news release.
"We can't wait for our fans to get their hands on the New Classic Chicken Sandwich which has the perfect crunch from breading and pickles paired with the juiciness and flavor of the fillet," Wendy's CMO Carl Loredo, said in the release. "The Classic joins what customers have already come to know and love in spice and taste from Wendy's via our Spicy Chicken and Pretzel Bacon Pub Chicken Sandwiches."
The $4.99 classic chicken sandwich features that updated fillet, mayo, tomato, lettuce and pickle on a toasted bun. The all-white piece of chicken breast is also being used on the brand's bacon jalapeno chicken sandwich, asiago ranch chicken club and pretzel bacon pub chicken sandwich.
Wendy's is based in Columbus, Ohio, and has more than 6,800 restaurants.
