Wendy's names U.S, international presidents

Wendy's has elevated its executive vice president and chief concept and marketing officer, Kurt Kane, to president of the chain's U.S. market and chief commercial officer, said Wendy's CEO Todd Penegor during a Wednesday Q1 2019 investors call.

The change is part of a leadership restructuring at the burger brand, which also included news that COO Bob Wrights is leaving his position at the end of this month and that Chief Global Development Officer Abigail Pringle will take over as COO  and president of he chain's international arm.

Kane is now overseeing all U.S. business and continue his responsibilities overseeing Wendy's digital initiatives, while Pringle runs Wendy's international system and its development plans.

Penegor said the moves help position the brand better for expansion. Kane is a West Point graduate and holds an masters in business. He came to Wendy's from Yum Brands where he was Pizza Hut's global chief marketing and food innovation officer.

Pringle ha held leadership posts at the professional services company, Accenture.
