Saturday Night Live immortalized the cheeseburger in 1978 through the antics of its 'Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger' skit and now Wendy's is getting in on the triplicate cheeseburger action with its Made to Crave menu with three versions of beloved melty-topped patty, including S'Awesome Bacon Cheeseburger, Peppercorn Mushroom Melt and Barbecue Cheeseburger. And the brand said the new offerings are not LTOs, but here to stay as part of its menu, according to a news release.
The S'Awesome Bacon Cheeseburger features a burger, two slices of American cheese, three strips of Applewood-smoked bacon, iceberg lettuce, onions, pickles and S'Awesome sauce on a bun for $5.29, while the peppercorn mushroom melt features sautéed, fire-roasted and seasoned mushrooms, fried onions, Asiago cheese and a burger with smoked peppercorn aioli, also for $5.29. Finally the barbecue cheeseburger has two slices of American cheese, fried onions, three pickles and a burger topped with Kansas City-style barbecue sauce for $4.79.
