Wendy's pulls kids' meal CD over adult lyrics
June 13, 2010
Wendy's has pulled one of four music CDs it has been offering in its kids meals. The four CDs were marked as safe for children age 3 and up, but the disco music CD in question featured the adult version of the song "Last Dance" by Donna Summer, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.Instead of using the words "so bad," the song contained the words "so horny."
Wendy's says on its website that it is no longer offering the Car Karaoke Disco Fever CD but continues to offer three others: "Songs for the Car," "Totally 80's for Kids" or "Motown for Kids." Each features four songs by the original artists, including "ABC" by Jackson 5, "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell, and "Please Mr. Postman" by the Marvelettes.
McDonald's glasses recall
Quick-service leader McDonald's also is in the midst of a recall in which it is buying back more than 7 million Shrek glasses sold to consumers. The painted decal on the glasses have been found to contain the heavy metal cadmium, which has been the subject of increased scrutiny and tightening standards. The chain has been praised for its handling of the recall.
