Wetzel's Pretzels takes on a 'bubbly' summer personality

Wetzel's Pretzels is pouring on its bubbliest personality this summer by introducing a bubble tea-inspired refresher to go with its other summer drink, Cherry Boba Frozen Lemonade, a news release said. 

The handcrafted drinks layer the brand's frozen lemonade on top of cherry-flavored popping pearls, topped off with real cherry fruit puree. The brand said it's an LTO whose time has come, according to a recent Allied Market Research study showing the boba/bubble tea market is bubbling over these days and could reach more than $3.2 billion by 2023. In fact, the research showed that 57% of the demand for the Taiwanese-originated pearl-filled drink is expected to come from North America. 

"The craving for Boba, tea and fruit-forward drinks are on the rise, and Cherry Boba Frozen Lemonade gives us a category differentiator that reinforces our innovation leadership," Wetzel's Pretzel's CEO Jennifer Schuler, said in the news release. 

The brand said it is also now delivering its pretzels, Bitz and Dog Bites to Pasadena, California, homes through Postmates, UberEats, Door Dash and Grubhub.
