Whataburger has announced the promotion of two executive team members.
"We are thrilled to promote Pam and David into these expanded leadership roles. Both of them have proven their exceptional capabilities over their years with Whataburger and I'm confident they'll play an integral role in Whataburger's next chapter of growth," CEO Preston Atkinson said in a news release.
Cox joined Whataburger in 2001 and has spent the last 12 years developing and overseeing the implementation of the corporate communications strategy. She is responsible for directing all internal communications activities, special events and meetings, public relations and social media efforts for the company. She graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and began her public relations career with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Wilson, a San Antonio native, graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He spent 14 years as Clear Channel's chief information officer before joining Whataburger as the chief information officer in 2011. Wilson will oversee business architecture, strategic management, information technology and shared services. He succeeds Buddy Reno in the chief of staff position who retired at the end of 2013 after more than 30 years with Whataburger.
