Whataburger is unveiling a new look for its menu that will go into effect July 2 at 3 p.m. to make room for new items alongside traditional core favorites. A 550 Calories or Less menu with a selection of lower-calorie items will also be featured as part of Whataburger's new menu design.
New menu design
Beginning July 2, customers will notice their favorites may not be located where they usually are on the menu board. Whataburger's menu will be rearranged and simplified in categories for burgers, chicken and breakfast to accommodate new menu items, but will still include the brand's signature items.
"We think our customers will be extremely pleased with the new menu items we've added, and we redesigned our menu boards to accommodate these additions," said Rich Scheffler, Whataburger group director of marketing and innovation. "The new menu is easier to navigate and provides more variety for our customers."
Whataburger will introduce two salads as part of the new menu: an Apple & Cranberry Chicken Salad made with romaine lettuce, dried cranberries, fresh apples and shredded cheddar cheese, topped with grilled chicken or a Whatachick'n Filet, and a classic Garden Salad. Adding to its lineup of salad dressings, the restaurant will begin offering Low-Fat Honey Pepper Vinaigrette and Low-Fat Herb Vinaigrette to complement its new salads.
The Grilled Chicken Melt – a grilled chicken sandwich topped with grilled onions, poblano and red bell peppers, and Monterey Jack cheese – will also be added to Whataburger's menu, and a Grilled Cheese on Texas Toast will be available as a kid's meal option.
550 Calories or Less menu
Along with the new menu design, Whataburger will highlight a number of offerings as part of its new 550 Calories or Less menu.
In addition to the two new salads, Whataburger lunch and dinner choices under 550 calories include:

"Our new '550 Calories or Less' menu provides guests more options without compromising the big flavor Whataburger is known for," Scheffler said. "We understand many of our customers want to make lighter choices when they eat out, and we strive to provide the highest quality, freshest ingredients to make their selection easy."
