In response to customers' demands, Whataburger is bringing back its spicy ketchup for a limited time beginning today.
The condiment was initially introduced in January 2012. The red jalapeño-infused ketchup was offered as a limited batch last spring before the final case was given away through a Facebook sweepstakes that garnered nearly 20,000 entries.
"We heard our customers' requests to bring back spicy ketchup and we're pleased to reintroduce it to our menu for a limited time," said Pam Cox, Whataburger group director of Corporate Communications. "Our Facebook sweepstakes for the final case of our last batch was such a hit, we look forward to engaging our fans on Twitter to give away the first case of this new batch."
Fans can enter to win the first case — 200 black-labeled tubs — of the second limited batch of spicy ketchup through a Twitter sweepstakes. To be eligible to win, fans must retweet the applicable tweet today and include the hashtag #SpicyIsBack. The winner will be chosen at random from entries received during the designated 24-hour sweepstakes period.
