White Castle has added a veggie slider to its permanent menu, giving diners a non-meat option in addition to its beef, chicken and fish Sliders, according to a press release.
The Southwest Veggie Slider has a blend of six vegetables — sweet potatoes, black beans, corn, red bell peppers, onions and carrots — seasoned with smoky chipotle and sweet BBQ flavors and served on a classic Slider bun with a slice of jalapeño cheese. (American or cheddar cheese may be substituted.)
"Our Cravers have been pretty vocal about wanting an alternative to traditional meat Sliders that doesn't compromise on flavor," Jamie Richardson, chief marketing officer, said in the press release. "That prompted our menu innovation team to prioritize finding a craveable alternative, and we believe the Southwest Veggie Slider delivers on that in a big way."
The Southwest Veggie Slider will be available beginning June 15 at White Castle restaurants across the country for a price starting at $2.49.
White Castle is based in Columbus, Ohio, and has more than 330 restaurants as well as a retail division.
