White Castle's 27-year-old Valentine's Day dinner gets techy boost

Even true love can get a boost from technology as White Castle is discovering this Valentine's Day, the first year that the slider brand has employed online reservations through the online channel, OpenTable. The "castle" has become the "it" place to take your honey for Valentine's Day, which this year falls on next Wednesday,  when thousands of sweethearts will slide into the chain's locations for a chance to ride an onion-breathed wave of love into their honey's hearts. 

Last year, White Castle hosted more than 26,000 people at various locations for Valentine's Day, and anticipates serving a record number of customers for this year's event.

"Every year, reservations fill up quickly at most of our Castles," White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson, said in the release. "We encourage Cravers everywhere to book their reservations through OpenTable, or contact our regional offices, as soon as possible to ensure they are able to join in on the celebration."
