White Castle's sandwich concept to open second location

June 21, 2012

Deckers, a concept owned by White Castle that sells panini sandwiches, soups and salads, has plans to open in Louisville, Ky., in the fall.

The opening will mark the second unit for Deckers, which was first introduced in 2010. The concept made its debut in Lebanon, Tenn.

According to Louisville Business First, Deckers will be housed under the same roof as a remodeled White Castle restaurant in the Jeffersontown suburb. The co-branded restaurant is expected to open by mid-November.

White Castle, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, also has launched the Laughing Noodle and Blaze Modern BBQ concepts.

Plant planned for SW Ohio

Additionally, White Castle is planning to open a new food processing plant in Vandalia, Ohio, just southwest of its headquarters. According to the Dayton Daily News, the facility will employ 120 workers, and construction will begin in the fall. Completion is expected in the summer of 2013.
