Yoshinoya opens Bakersfield, California store as part of 'aggressive' expansion

April 17, 2019

Yoshinoya America has opened a Bakersfield, California store, bringing the 121-year-old QSR brand's worldwide store count to more than 2,000, with its most recent additions in the City Heights and Escondido areas of Greater San Diego. Additional locations are in the works for Bakersfield as well, according to a press release.

The store will feature the brand's menu of Original Beef, Teriyaki Chicken, Habanero Chicken, Grilled Tilapia and Sweet Chili Shrimp — all with steamed rice or noodles. The White Lane store also features new items like Japanese Yakisoba Noodles, Orange Chicken and grilled Steak and Peppers.

The chain, one of the oldest QSRs in existence, is growing aggressively, particularly outside of its Japanese home base and has more than 100 California restaurants with plans for more.
