The biggest money-earning companies in the world, as published in FORTUNE Magazine's annual list, include BP, Wal-Mart and Microsoft.
Wal-Mart and BP also made the list of largest companies, which also includes Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon Mobile, and Toyota Motor.
Joining that prestigious list as "the world's largest restaurant chain by brand" is Yum! Brands, the umbrella company for Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC and Long John Silver's. Yum!, formed in 1997, has an $11 billion turnover and employs 49,000 people in more than 37,000 restaurants and 110 countries.
International growth is part of the Yum! strategy with new markets in France, India and Russia contributing to 14 percent sales growth this year.
Yum! has been recognized by FORTUNE before, as one of the Top 50 employers for minorities and one of the top 50 employers for women.
