Zomato, a restaurant search and discovery service, has made its first push into North America with the launch of its Toronto section. Zomato covers over 11,000 restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area and is available on web and mobile (iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Blackberry).
Zomato users can browse through restaurant information, read and write restaurant reviews, share pictures, and build a personal network of people whose opinions they trust. Zomato's mobile app allows users to discover restaurants around them based on their physical location, in addition to providing information for all restaurants in the city.
"We're proud to include Toronto in our growing list of world-class cities. It boasts of a vibrant restaurant industry, and Canada is a hugely promising market for us. We've earmarked US $10 million for our expansion in Canada, and are committed to making Zomato the go-to restaurant discovery service in the country. Canada is truly a great starting point for us before we think of getting into the United States," said founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal in a company press release.
Users can access all restaurant information on Zomato's website available at www.zomato.com or download Zomato's free mobile app. Business owners can learn more at www.zomato.com/business.
