Dairy Queen promos S’mores Blizzard with ‘virtual campfire’

Dairy Queen’s summer signature S’mores Blizzard is back and to mark its return, the brand has launched a new interactive website, smoresong.com.

“Everyone has a vivid story of campfires, friends and gooey treats, especially in the summer. We inspire those memories with our S’mores Blizzard Treat that our fans fell in love with last year, so we are bringing it back in an epic way,” EVP of Marketing Barry Westrum said in a news release.

The website includes a variety of activities where guests will be able to:

  • enter the S’mores Song Music Video Contest with a grand prize of $10,000. From now through June 30, fans can submit a 45 to 60 second video of the next verse for the S’mores song featured in the new DQ commercial. Three finalists will be posted on the contest’s website beginning July 7, and fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite through July 18. Second prize is a $1,000 Dairy Queen gift card, and third is one Blizzard Treat per month for one year;
  • download the S’mores Song ringtone;
  • download S’mores Song sheet music;
  • enter daily to win weekly prizes;
  • remix the S’mores Song; and
  • access the “S’mores survival guide.”

“We are encouraging fans to gather around our virtual campfire and sing along to the same new S’mores song you’ll hear thousands of times in our commercials during June,” Westrum said.
