Internet aglow with BK site's McDonald's-bashing Halloween stunt

A Queens, New York, Burger King has lit up the internet over the past 24 hours with its competitor-punching Halloween get-up, according to a UPI report.The location in the Rego Park neighborhood of the city draped its sign with ghostly, eyehole-adorned white sheets bearing competitor, McDonald's name and trademark golden arches. An accompanying marquee sign states simply, "Boooooo. Just kidding, we still flame grill our burgers. Happy Halloween."

Whatever its faults (some have tweeted, for instance, that is "a level of pettiness once unheard of"), the location managed to get both its name, as well as that of its competitor, a lot of national news exposure. Web publishers and wire services, including UPI and Time magazine, have published a brief item about the PR stunt.
