White Castle has broken ground on its first restaurant in Texas, located at Grandscape in The Colony. The grand opening for the new location is expected in late fall 2026, according to a press release.

The 3,430-square-foot restaurant will feature a double drive-thru along with canopy and patio seating. The location is expected to bring 70 jobs to the local area.

White Castle leadership, including Chief Marketing Officer Jamie Richardson, Chief People Officer John Kelley and Corporate Relations Manager Erin Shannon, attended the groundbreaking alongside The Colony Mayor Richard Boyer. The company marked the expansion with a ceremonial sprinkling of onions on the future grill site.

"As a family-owned business, we've wanted to get to Texas for a long time, and today we're making it official. The Crave is here to stay," Richardson said in the press release. "Grandscape in The Colony is exactly the kind of community we love being a part of, and we can't wait to start serving hot, tasty Sliders to our newest Cravers in the Lone Star State."

Local officials welcomed the addition of the legacy QSR to the community.

"This is a brand people love, and we're excited to see that kind of enthusiasm come to The Colony," Boyer said in the press release. "We know our residents have been waiting for this, and we can't think of a better place for White Castle to call home."

White Castle recently opened its third Central Florida restaurant. The family-owned business owns and operates 336 restaurants as well as a retail division.
