AOpen Inc. recently announced that its digital signage media players are powering digital menu boards and entertainment signage in Moscow Wendy's restaurants.
In June 2011, Wendy's celebrated the opening of its flagship restaurant located in Moscow's historic Arbat District, and that year saw a total of six restaurants opene in Moscow with 16 more set to follow by the end of 2012. Wendy's franchisee Wenrus Restaurant Group plans to develop 180 restaurants in the country over the next decade.
In 2010, Wendy's hired Russian system integrator Dismart, an AOpen certified partner, to lead the project for the digital signage menu boards. Dismart is responsible for the complete project at the Wendy's restaurants across Russia: from project development, installation, content management to technical support to on-site service.
Each Wendy's restaurant has five to six LG Electronics 42-inch displays and three AOpen Digital Engine DE7000 media players including Dismart's own software and content management system, showing Wendy's custom-made menus for every region, special offers of the day and promotional movies.
