Beginning today through Sept. 30, Arby's restaurants nationwide will collect money for the Arby's Foundation and its mission to end childhood hunger through a partnership with Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign. The goal of the in-store fundraiser is to raise $2.5 million.
Customers who donate $1 will receive a pin-up pledge to sign and hang on the walls of the restaurant to show their support. As a thank you for their donations, customers will receive a coupon for one free Value Menu item with the purchase of a sandwich.
"We have a huge problem right here in our own backyards that tends to go unnoticed," said Hala Moddelmog, president, Arby's Restaurant Group Inc. "Childhood hunger is a silent epidemic with more than 16 million children struggling to find meals. We feel it's imperative that we step up to get involved and help drive a change."
Arby's has been actively involved with the No Kid Hungry campaign since 2011. From May through August of this year, the Arby's Foundation embarked on an 8,000 mile, 15-city Hungry For Happiness tour to raise awareness about childhood hunger and connect kids to 1 million more meals during the vulnerable summer months.
Arby's is the largest quick-service restaurant chain to partner in a nationwide effort with Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign and contributed more than $2.2 million to its mission in 2011.
