Auntie Anne's, Cinnabon debut in Jamaica
Tourists traveling through the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, can now enjoy Cinnabon cinnamon rolls and Auntie Anne's hand-rolled soft pretzels with the recent opening of three total stores.
The west and east terminals each feature an Auntie Anne's bakery and guests can find Cinnabon in the main food court area.
As part of the FOCUS Brands International franchise portfolio, the Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon presence in Jamaica is through Margaritaville Caribbean Ltd., led by CEO Ian Dear. Margaritaville Caribbean Ltd. is a privately-owned organization operating proprietary and branded food and beverage concepts for more than 16 years. It is the largest single food and beverage operator at the Sangster International Airport.
"When evaluating what brands to add to the airport, we saw a great opportunity with Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon. The strong brand awareness and unique offerings both brands provide complement what our tourist customer base is looking to purchase when they are enjoying leisure time," Dear said.
Later this month, a third Auntie Anne's bakery is scheduled to open in the Port of Falmouth in Trewlany, which greets cruise ship passengers all year round.
Auntie Anne's Pretzels has more than 1,200 locations in 23 countries. Throughout the remainder of 2012, it projects opening approximately 20 international bakeries as part of six new master franchise partner development agreements, including India, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago, Bahamas, Turkey and Brunei.
Cinnabon has more than 860 locations in 51 countries. Throughout the remainder of 2012, it projects opening approximately 130 new international bakeries with seven of these openings falling under four new master franchise partner development agreements, including Libya, Nicaragua, Iraq and Ukraine.
