Back to the Basics: Burger growth expected at QSRs in 2011

October 4, 2010

A new report by RNCOS, a global market research analysis organization, predicts burger sales in the United States will grow by about 4 percent by the end of 2011.

The report, "U.S. Fast Food Market Outlook 2010," shows burger consumption steadily rising for the past few years, and will continue displaying an impressive Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) through next year.

The study concludes the growth is due to the fact that burgers remain attractive to a large audience, as well as easily accessible, affordable, portable and customizable. It is also predicted that more companies and chains will enter the market within the next couple of years.

RNCOS' analysis also predicts a renewed investment in the quick-service industry, with a growing young population, and pizza and sandwich segments growing rapidly, in addition to burgers.
