Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits celebrated its 35th birthday last week. The chain began as a small walk-up restaurant on the South End of Charlotte, N.C., on July 6, 1977.
Since, Bojangles' has experienced $10 Billion in revenues and now operates more than 520 restaurants in 10 states and Washington, D.C. The chain's footprint extends from Washington, D.C., south to Orlando and west to Mississippi, and employs nearly 20,000 people. Opening a store at the pace of one every 10 days, Bojangles' has been one of the fastest-growing quick-serve brands in recent years.
"We are so thankful for this 'special day' because that first restaurant has developed into this great brand of more than 520 locations," said Randy Kibler, CEO of Bojangles' Restaurants Inc. "Our customers are the most loyal in the business, and the brand has created opportunities and livelihoods to so many throughout the years. We are completely indebted to our founders, Jack Fulk and Richard Thomas."
