What better state for an April Fools' Day revelation than Missouri, the "Show me" state. That's where Burger King decided to test its plant-based "Impossible Whopper" beginning today at 59 St. Louis-area locations of the brand, a news release said.
To kick off what the brand assures us is really a possible new menu item on this day of gags, it released a video of some initial customers trying the burger made with the plant-comprised meat that has already landed in QSRs like White Castleand others.
The concoction contains the plant-based burger, topped with tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles and sliced white onions on a toasted sesame seed bun.
The chain has more than 17,000 locations in more than 100 countries and U.S. territories.
