Burger King kicks off home delivery in India

Want a Whopper delivered directly to your door? Burger King in India can do that thanks to a new home delivery service.

Burger King is launching its home delivery service in India, marking the fifth country a BK if offering the service, according to The Economic Times.Industry experts say the move is aligned to leverage Indian consumption habits and addresses evolving needs such as consumers' mobile app use. Besides the U.S., Spain, Korea and China are the only other countries where Burger King, with a footprint across close to 100 countries, that offers the home delivery service, the article stated.

"We believe tech-enabled solutions will give us a chance to keep pace with customers," Burger King CEO Raj Varman told Economic Times. "Online apps and mobile penetration have changed the way business are being done."

Burger King openend its first store in India nine months ago. It partnered with tech firms LimeTray, FastOx and Grab to start its home-delivery business. The delivery service will be starting in Delhi NCR and Mumbai this week.
