Carl's Jr. restaurants retrofitted with energy-efficient motors

June 27, 2012

Blue Earth Inc., an energy efficiency and renewable energy services company, has announced that it has completed the installation of 1,655 energy efficient EC motors in 358 Carl's Jr. restaurants located in California, Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

The value of the completed retrofit program was approximately $288,000. The project was marketed and installed under the Blue Earth Energy Management Services trade name. BEEMS also secured approximately $94,000 in rebates from 23 utilities that helped offset a large portion of the project costs.

The BEEMS team members provide restaurant owners with comprehensive energy conservation measures that result in long-term energy savings and reduced operating costs. The estimated first-year energy savings are expected to be approximately $271,000 and the estimated five-year energy savings are expected to be approximately $1.6 million. The annual kWh saved is approximately 1,860,125.

"This project highlights BEEMS commitment to provide comprehensive energy conservation measures to customers that have multiple facilities in West Coast states," said John Pink, president of Blue Earth Energy Management Services Inc. "We are proud of the work accomplished with Carl's Jr. and applaud their commitment to reducing energy consumption and their carbon footprint."

Blue Earth Energy Management Services Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Earth Inc.
