Chick-fil-A anticipates new customers for Cow Appreciation Day

July 7, 2014

Chick-fil-A restaurants across the country will celebrate the annual Cow Appreciation Day July 11. On that day, customers who dress up “head to hoof” in cow attire will receive a free breakfast, lunch or dinner combo meal, which includes an entrée, side and beverage.

Customers who instead wear a cow-spotted accessory (hat, scarf, purse, etc.) will receive a free entrée of choice. According to a company announcement, last year’s Cow Appreciation Day generated more than 900,000 customers dressed as cows.

"Every year we are amazed at the number of new customers who participate in Cow Appreciation Day, as well as the customers who make it an annual tradition with their families," CMO Steve Robinson said in the announcement. "Reaching the one million customer mark will be a huge testament to the fun our guests have with the cow marketing campaign, as well as their love for our food. This is the one day a year when it's OK to dress 'udderly' ridiculous and get rewarded for it."

Chick-fil-A has a website — CowAppreciationDay.com — dedicated to the event, which includes downloadable cow spots, masks and other accessories. Fans are also encouraged to tweet pictures of their costumes using the hashtag #CowAppreciationDay.
