Church's names former TGI Fridays, Burger King exec as CMO

Former Burger King and TGI Fridays marketing executive, Brian Gies, has been named executive vice president and global CMO for Church's Chicken, according to a news release. Gies was TGI Fridays CMO from 2013 to 2016, after nearly 20 years at Burger King, including U.S. marketing vice president. 

Church's Chicken CEO Joe Christina was recently the featured guest on the QSRweb podcast, where Christina detailed how the brand and its international sister brand, Texas Chicken, were transforming to meet the needs of QSR chicken customers in the U.S. and worldwide. 

The brand said Gies will be instrumental in helping the brand improve market share and consumer brand awareness.
